Nancy Howe - Jellyfish

An interest in drawing, painting and color led me to study at the art department of the University of California, Santa Barbara. A move to New Jersey the allowed me to attend the Art Student’s League in New York City where I concentrated on drawing and oil painting as well as exploring other mediums in local Princeton studios. While living in Indonesia from 1970 to 1973 I became interested in the batik process and other local art forms. A Scandinavian background introduced me to the Norwegian art of Rosemaling which involves using oil paint on wood. I studied with Gary Albrecht of Wisconsin for many years and I still Rosemal on occasion. More recently I have rekindled an interest in watercolors and collage, and studied at the Jane E. Jones studio in Dallas in the late 1980’s and with Jane Hofstetter in San Jose. I continue to take workshops from watercolor artists who work interests me.
