I began my journey in woodworking more than 50 years ago when I completed my undergraduate and post graduate studies at California State University, Long Beach in Industrial Arts. I taught Woodshop and Drafting to high school students for several years. It was during this time that I started building furniture, much of which is still in use in my home in Felton, California, where I have resided for the last 35 years.
With a wife and young family, I found it economically necessary to take my life in another direction and spent the next 35 plus years utilizing my design and management skills in the computer and disk drive industry. In my spare moments I found myself continuing to work on my first love, woodworking, including furniture, cabinetry and jewelry boxes.
I now spend much of my time focusing on creating wood box designs using a broad range of indigenous and exotic hardwoods. I am also starting to explore wood turning to compliment my box designs. There is always more to learn and enjoy in my woodworking journey.
